{"id":16416,"date":"2023-10-18T11:48:27","date_gmt":"2023-10-18T03:48:27","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.melvilleglades.com\/cms\/?p=16416"},"modified":"2023-10-18T11:48:27","modified_gmt":"2023-10-18T03:48:27","slug":"novelty-day-thursday-november-2nd","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.melvilleglades.com\/cms\/2023\/10\/novelty-day-thursday-november-2nd\/","title":{"rendered":"NOVELTY DAY THURSDAY NOVEMBER 2ND"},"content":{"rendered":"\n\n\n<p>Time to forget about your handicap, classy golf shots and good scores, because it\u2019s time for our NOVELTY GOLF DAY. &nbsp;With temporary and cored green\u2019s, it will be fun in the wild!<\/p>\n<p>Here\u2019s the Novelty Day plan for this year.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Game Format<\/strong> \u2013 Nett 4 Ball Ambrose (Stroke).&nbsp; All 4 players can play every shot. Must use a minimum of 3 Drives each.&nbsp; Can score on a card or MiScore app \u2013 both will be set up with your team handicap. Only need 1 score card\/app score per team.<\/p>\n<p><strong>13 Holes to be played<\/strong> \u2013 We will be playing the usual 12 holes however, as the 8<sup>th<\/sup> hole should still be played as 8A and 8B, that brings the total number of holes to 13.&nbsp; Holes to be played are 1,2 head stage left to 6, 7, 8A, 8B, 9, 10, 11 then head stage left to 15, 16, 17 &amp; 18.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Play off the Men\u2019s Blue Tees<\/strong> \u2013 and here\u2019s the real Novelty challenge.&nbsp; Everyone must tee off from the Men\u2019s Blue Tees (<em>will still be using our Red Tee handicaps<\/em>) but the change of Tee off scenery, angles and length will add another novel element. &nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Competition is for 9 and 18 hole members,<\/strong> and we would love to see as many groups as possible take this opportunity to <strong>mix up their groups<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p><strong>No Dress up required<\/strong> but wearing team colours or the like is perfectly ok.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Longest Drive with an old fashioned \u201cWood\u201d.<\/strong>&nbsp; Waiting for you all at the Hole number 1, will be a couple of truly \u201cWooden\u201d Drivers for you all to tee off with.&nbsp; The longest drive to win a prize. &nbsp;(<em>If the Drivers fall apart before all players have tee\u2019d off then you can \u201cDrive\u201d with your own 8 or 9 iron only<\/em>).&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Nearest the pins on holes 8B, 9 and 17.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Nearest Drive to the Squiggly line on Hole 18<\/strong> \u2013 and yes you get to use your own driver!<\/p>\n<p><strong>$5 Entry Fee to be paid to Pro-shop on the day \u2013 <\/strong>Wallet\/Pro Shop Prizes for winning group to be paid from the available prize pool.<\/p>\n<p>Booking sheet will open the usual 8 days prior \u2013 so book in with your group of 4 or simply pop your name in a tee spot and some playing partners will join you. H\/cap system can accommodate groups of 3 if need be.<\/p>\n<p>So, join in the fun, mix up your groups and enjoy the stress free game of Ambrose.&nbsp; Only need to use your teams\u2019 best shots, thus avoiding bunkers, the rough and unrepaired divots! With only a $5 entry fees, the winning purse will be limited but it\u2019s all about the glory of being in the winning team.
