Round 2 Monday 9th May
Our Division 5 team travelled to the Vines for round 2 and took on the Sea View Golf Club.
And we are pleased to report that we had a convincing 5 games to 2 win! Yeehaa!
We were again blessed with perfect sunny weather and The Vines course looked magnificent – the slick undulating greens were a challenge.
As a handicapped event, our Melville Glades team had to gift the Sea View team almost 40 shots, so we needed to play good steady golf to keep up the pressure.
Congratulations to Nina King with her first pennant win 3/2, Tryphena Mitchell’s first pennant game and outstanding win 4/3, Christine Orr notched up another win 3/2, Cheryl Collings joined the wining circle 5/3 and Lynda Wake defeated their number 1, 6/4. Anne Ward played a solid Captain’s game falling just short on the 18th and Jenny Marsh was down 3/2 with her opponent needing most of her extra 9 shots to secure the win.
Our Melville Glades team was again supported by some quality experienced caddies. We thank Leanne McVey, Helen Constable, Raelene Dunsire, Joan Henley and Judy Harrison.
Next week we tackle The Vines at Sea View and have a leisurely 11.30 Tee off.
