Division 3 – round 2

Our division 3 ladies finally got their season underway with a convincing win, 5 games to 2 over WA Golf Club. Congratulations Ladies!

Wasn’t a smooth start to the season with some late Sunday night changes to our team due to illness and urgent family matters.  To the rescue, our dedicated Lady Director, Cheryl Collings, made the late-night swap from Caddy to Player.  Nina King was also heading out to caddy and get some valuable Div 3 experience, and then came the late Sunday night call for help! Nina was at the club early Monday morning, loading up her golf clubs and heading out to play in Division 3.  Great team spirit Nina and almost managed a win!

Heading out in the number 1 spot, Leanne McVey put on a master class winning 7/6. Shirley van der Brugghen, playing her last game before shoulder surgery, won 2/1.  Captain Helen Constable matched that 2/1 win. Rosemary Burd achieved a comfortable 3/2 win. Raelene Dunsire, after losing concentration and letting her 4-hole lead slip, showed her true class, regrouping and securing a 2/1 win!

Division 5 – round 5

Our division 5 ladies had a bye, as we hosted round 5 at Melville Glades.  We put on a beautiful sunny day and our course looked magnificent – thanks to Dane and his crew.  Kangaroos were also a hit!

Lynda Wake, Anne Ward and Christine Orr attended to Hosting duties with support from our Pro, Luke Gerrard, our GM, Matt Espie and our Catering Manager, Susan Russell.

All went well with our guests thanking MGGC for a fabulous day.  We received many compliments about our course, catering, and friendly atmosphere.

Both teams have a w/e off due to the Monday P/H and will be back in action on June 13.  Division 3 head to WA Golf Club to challenge Gosnells and Division 5 head to Joondalup to tackle Gosnells in the Quarry!
