Update – Ian’s funeral will be held at the West Chapel (Fremantle Cemetery) on Friday 8th August at 2.30pm. A celebration of life will follow at the Leeming Bowling Club.
It is with sadness that we advise that member Ian Mears passed away peacefully on Tuesday 22nd July with family by his side.
Ian joined the Club in 1990 and spent time on both House and Course committees, spending a short time as acting House Director. Ian spent many hours volunteering his time at the Club – his handyman duties over the years included refurbishing the wooden golfer and the old pergola outside the Pro Shop, building the entry way walls at the Beasley Rd entrance and countless hours on mowers on the course.
Ian won the Helfers’ Shield in 1998 and had a hole in one in September 2009.
The Club extends its condolences to Ian’s wife Karyn and Ian’s family and friends at this difficult time. Funeral details will be advised as they come to hand.
