Pace of Play
Currently the ladies only have 6 mins between tee-off time (the men have 7).  There have been numerous complaints regarding slow play and often those responsible do not come into the clubhouse to hear announcements and complaints.  Remember the recommended time for a round of golf is approx 4 ¼ hours.

In the next few weeks, based on R&A feedback, and rather than introduce penalties for slow play, the following will take place:

  • We will be trialling 8 min tee-times (still allows for 80 players) which will allow for the group in front to be further down the fairway before the next group tee’s off.
    • Be at the tee box 10 mins BEFORE your tee-time
  • Same starting times

Additionally, new software will be introduced shortly which allows for real-time monitoring of slow play

  • See who is causing the problem and target them rather than the whole field
  • If necessary a marshal can then go onto the course directly to that group

Be Courteous
If you are a “last minute” pull-out on a golf day – please remember to let your playing partners know.  Nothing is worse than getting to golf and finding yourself in a 2 ball or on your own.

Breast Cancer Day
Thursday 23rd October.  Remember to bring “cash” for donations and raffles.
Sponsors Shirley Van Der Brugghen and Deb Ward.

Course Renovations
Week commencing 27th October

Novelty Day
12 holes Thursday 6th November – shotgun start.

This year we have re-introduced a fun theme.  Theme will be red, white or blue.  Your team can wear one colour or a 2 or 3 colour combination.  Or, if you are adventurous, your team can make up their own theme of red, white & blue (eg Captain America).

Ellen Oliver has again kindly donated 6 bottles of wine to the best dressed team.

LAM – or WAM as it is now known
Thursday 20th November – 2pm.  Notices will be sent out this week.  The by-laws were changed by the Board in June this year and the only positions that are now up for election are Captain and Vice Captain.  Other ladies will still be able to assist by taking up positions on the Ladies Committee, they just don’t need to be elected.

We are looking for a Vice-Captain.
Please consider your contribution in helping to make our ladies golfing events a continuing success.  These things cannot happen on their own and we need your support.   Please let me know if you are interested and can help.
