The Match Committee continues to monitor both competition and social golf at Melville Glades to ensure a fair and enjoyable experience for all members. Recent member feedback and committee review have identified opportunities to further improve the inclusivity and consistency of our competitions.

Commencing Saturday 1 November, following the renovation week break, the following changes will be introduced:

Friday and Sunday Competitions will no longer be separate Men’s and Women’s events. These days will now operate as fully mixed all day competitions, with all members competing together in one unified prize pool. Social play is permitted all day on these days. Entry to the competition requires 18 holes.

Saturday Competitions will now be mixed competitions on all standard fixture days. The only exceptions will be Men’s Gold Letter events, Monthly Medals, and Monthly Mugs, which will continue under the current hybrid model where female players compete in a separate prize pool and leaderboard.

Wednesday and Saturday Competitions will now operate as all day competitions, meaning morning and afternoon fields will compete in a single unified prize pool. Members can continue to book in either field based on preference.

By combining both fields into a unified 200 plus player competition, prize values will increase to approximately:

• Winner 120 dollars
• Runner Up 85 dollars

This reflects a stronger overall competition and more rewarding outcomes for high performers, while maintaining fair distribution across the full field.

Nearest the Pin on Wednesday and Saturday will be an all day event. In competitions with fields of 150 or more players, the Nearest the Pin prize value will be 20 dollars, recognising the larger field and higher level of participation.
