I am pleased to announce the appointment of Ms Fiza Errington to the role of General Manager at Melville Glades Golf Club.
Process. The Board undertook a detailed search for the most suitable candidate. A recruiting company was engaged to establish a comprehensive list of viable candidates and conduct initial interviews based on the Club’s requirements. They presented a short list for further consideration by the Club.
A selection advisory group was established consisting of President (designate) Matt Thomas, Vice President (designate) Phil Johnson and the Chair of Golf WA, Emma Elliott. They narrowed the field down to four and conducted in-depth interviews, one in New Zealand, one in South Africa and two in Perth.
This detailed and rigorous process identified a preferred candidate. A fully documented proposal was then presented to the Board for its final approval. The proposal included a thorough assessment of the final four candidates relative to the Club’s requirements and notes from interviews with referees.
Preferred Candidate. Fiza Errington was a standout candidate with her knowledge and experience gained over more than 20 years in the golf industry. The Board agreed with the recommendation that Fiza be offered a contract for the position of GM. She has accepted this offer.
Her leadership roles within private golf clubs include senior management experience in Dubai, General Manager at two golf clubs in Victoria and Operations Manager at the renowned Yarra Yarra Golf Club. More recently she has been the General Manager at Gosnells Golf Club here in Perth.
She has built and managed high performing teams in corporate administration, member relations, hospitality and marketing. She understands the nuances of Private Golf clubs and is a hands-on leader who enjoys supporting and inspiring staff and volunteers whilst ensuring strong governance, compliance and financial stewardship.
Her formal qualifications include a Cert 4 and Diploma in Golf Management, a Bachelor of Business degree from Edith Cowan University with a major in sports management and a Post Graduate degree in Education, majoring in business. She is also the first female in Australia to achieve accreditation from the worldwide Certified Club Managers Association of America (CCM). She is an avid golfer and is a low handicap player.
We are delighted to have secured Fiza to the important role of General Manager and look forward to welcoming her to the club. She is a very good fit to manage whole of Club operations, implement the strategic direction of the Board and introduce 21st Century governance to the business that is our Club. She will commence her role on 23 March 2026.
