What a morning. Thank you to everyone who joined us for Masters Monday. A full clubhouse before 6am is something special and a credit to each and every one of you for making the effort.
A huge thank you to all staff who got up bright and early to make the morning run so smoothly. It was a fantastic effort all round.
Welcoming nearly 75 players to the tee for an 8am shotgun start, including guests from a number of other clubs, made for one of the standout mornings of the year at MGGC.
Congratulations to Rory on winning back to back Majors at Augusta. And closer to home, congratulations to our winners on the day:
1st — Tyler Grant-Mackay (40 points)
2nd — David Morrison (39 points)
3rd — Marilyn Corbett (38 points)
Tyler takes home the Melville Glades Green Jacket, a piece of club history in its own right. It is also great to see Tyler, one of our Approved Juniors, competing and winning in the open field. The jacket was originally owned by MGGC Foundation Member Neil Henley, and was generously donated to the club by his wife Joan to Club Captain Dale Davies in 2025. Just like Augusta, the jacket stays at Melville Glades, but Tyler will hold the title until next year’s Masters leg.
Tyler’s sentimental prize to take home was an official keyring from the 1997 Masters, a wonderful touch.
A special mention and thank you to Phil Smith, who brought along some incredible framed memorabilia on the day, including an original ticket from the 1997 Masters and a signed flag from Sergio Garcia’s 2017 win. A fantastic addition to the morning.
Thank you again to everyone involved. Days like this are what make MGGC such a great club.
