12 Holes Novelty Day – 6th November
8.00am Shotgun Start
AMBROSE STABLEFORD

The Game:

  • Teams of up to 6
  • Use cards
  • Handicap calculated by each team adding up each players handicap and then dividing it by the number of players (some teams may only have 5 players)
  • Each player must have 2 drives taken by the team
    • cards will be noted as to which player took the drive (eg: put the players initials against the relevant hole on the card)
  • After each stroke, the player whose ball is selected to be played will not participate in that next shot. This will help ensure that the low handicapper stays out of some play to even up the fairness between the teams.
  • the exception to this is on the green when every player gets to play.

Shotgun start: 8:00am sharp. All teams to be at their starting holes and ready to go.

  • Daily handicap sheets: Printed by the pro shop and placed next to the tills. The team captain will collect this and confirm the team’s combined daily handicap before play.
  • Double points hole: When signing in, the team captain draws one number from the tin at the counter. The draw will only include the three hardest indexed par 4s — Hole 7, Hole 11, and Hole 16.
  • Once drawn, the captain will circle that hole on the team’s scorecard before they head out. The number will then go back into the tin so other teams can draw the same hole.
    • The double points hole can be discussed freely — it’s just a fun element to boost scoring, not a secret.
  • Novelty Holes:
    • Hole 2                Shortest Drive
    • Hole 6                Nearest to the Mannequin
    • Hole 8A             Putt with the Tennis Ball
    • Hole 9                Longest Drive with your Putter
    • Hole 18             Longest Putt

All teams will get a piece of string which can be used ONCE ONLY as a free stroke.
