The Club regularly receives feedback on a number of items and issues on the golf course.
Two of these items we plan to address either during the current renovation week or in the immediate aftermath.
Since being re-turfed, the 10th green could not remain at the originally planned size. To rectify this course staff will be adding between 1-2m of turf to the perimeter of the green, keeping the same broad shape, while adding putting area to the current green. This will increase the size of the green from approximately 310 square metres to approximately 445 square metres.
While this new turf settles in to become playable the 10th hole will be out of play and we will split the 8th hole, to be played as 8A (par 4) and 8B (par 3). This will likely be the setup for 3-4 weeks before the turf is able to be used. The course will be setup accordingly and a temporary course rating will be used for competitions during this time. The 10th green will be out of play from Monday 3rd November.
The second issue that was raised was the height, and thickness, of the rough on the course. With the new reticulation system taking full effect in recent years the rough has improved in health and as a result many members were having trouble finding golf balls in areas of the course that have previously not been a problem. To reduce instances of lost balls and hopefully speed up the time taken to find errant shots, course staff will lower the cut height of rough from 38mm to 32mm. This height reduction will take place immediately.
We would like to thank members for their feedback and patience while both changes take place.
